Performance

i am a performance artist and theatre maker; i meet myself on stage again and again. the body of my work is in experiential, immersive and devised theater. my performance style is punctuated by her own honesty, insecurity, and passion to explore the complexity of emotion. i aim to turn the audience’s attention to the visceral, mundane, vulnerable and private aspects of the human experience. i have performed and created with Black Bird Theatre, Shakespeare West Festival, Creative Rights, BrendaLinda Performance Collaborative, The New Theatre Project, Sidewalk Festival, A Host of People. my directing centers around creating intimate and honest moments, and recently i have directed Neighborhood Theatre Group’s original shows Cryptic, Former Things and Thoughts and Prayers, and Black Cat: A New Nightmare. in 2015 and 2016 i mounted DIY productions of The Nightman Cometh on Ypsilanti.  is the co-founder of Friends w/ Benefits, a monthly dance and performance showcase which raises funds for community development. Her work outside of performance centers on developing creative confidence and identity-based pedagogy. Currently, she is working as Matrix Theatre Company’s Director of Productions and is pursuing a degree in Graphic Design at Washtenaw Community College. being human is messy business; i'm pretty sure we could all figure this out if we got a bit more comfortable being uncomfortable.
i want to bravely make awkward things with messy people in safe spaces. how about you?
