Marisa Ellen Dluge
i'm a gender-fluid performance artist, outreach specialist and graphic designer based in southeast, michigan.
my work is sweet, chaotic, honest, colorful and a little wistful. i work hard. i’m in debt. my 20s chewed me up and spit me out. i like to work for small businesses. i’m an over-thinker and sometimes its fun. i’m an introvert, except when i’m not. i love catharsis and give until it hurts; i’m not afraid of getting hurt. i am very afraid of hurting others. i am an enthusiastic listener; i try not to give too much advice. i like to share, i'd like you to share too. i tend to think you are really awesome. i am here for me, i am here for you.

i love my home. i love the cold, i love the water. i love that everyone is grumpy and also polite. i love that you can walk everywhere, only go to the same four places, sometimes drive and then complain about parking tickets. i love that the winter kills all of the big bugs. i love that we take art seriously. i love that we haven't given up on creating an earnest community, having open dialogues and holding each other accountable. i love that we go to each other things, events, shows, performances; we show up for each other. i love my poor, bright, warm-hearted, scrappy little city.
